Winner of art, writing contest

February 19-25, 2003

The Team-Up for Youth announced the winners of its 2003 Girls and Women in Sports Day Art and Writing Contest held last Feb. 5. At least 150 girls from San Francisco and Alameda Counties joined the said contest.


Winners for the writing contest include Michaela Tolliver, 4th Grade, Bay Area Scores, 21 Century School, SF; Unknown, Bay Area Scores, 21 Century School, SF; Jamice Moore, 9 years old, Marcus Foster School, Oakland, Sports4Kids; Christina Wiley, 12 Youth Tennis Association, Oakland; and Selam Workenen, 17, Elmhurst Tennis Program, Oakland.


Winners for the writing contest include Angelica Jimenez, “beating my brother,” 7 years old, Girls, Inc. Wilson Elementary, San Leandro; Julie Sanchez “cuando estoy corriendo,” 6 years old; Girls, Inc. Wilson Elementary, San Leandro; David Dancer “pencils playing soccer,” 8 years old, Girls, Inc. Lockwood Elementary, Oakland; Liliana Romero, 8 years old, Girls Inc. Wilson Elementary, San Leandro; and Stephanie Rivera, 9 years old; Girls. Inc. Wilson Elementary, San Leandro.
