Core Principles
We believe high-quality sports programs have the powerful potential to help young people become successful adults. So Team-Up strives to help community-based sports organizations improve and implement programs that are centered on the well-being and healthy development of youth participants.
From that point of view, we developed the Building Blocks for Quality Youth Sports -- a set of research-based principles which illustrate the experiences and relationships which characterize high-quality community sports programs. (Adapted from the Youth Development Framework for Practice by the Community Network for Youth Development.) Training Events
Team-Up training courses are open to organizations that offer after-school physical activity programs in low-income neighborhoods around the San Francisco Bay Area. On-site Workshops
Team-Up also offers a slate of workshop topics that we can deliver at your program site. Workshops are available to grantees, past training participants and to other youth sports organizations on a contract basis. Fees are determined on a sliding scale based on your organization’s budget.
